For the organisation of these competitions and introductions to the discipline, the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) has teamed up with the founder of Parkour David Belle and his partner Charles Perrière.
Olympic ambition
Two competitions inspired by Parkour, with an Olympic atmosphere, will be on the programme : sprint and freestyle obstacles courses. For the obstacles course sprint, what matters is the time used to complete the compulsory course ; whereas the « obstacle course freestyle » is a judged performance.
Competitions take place on the Street Park at FISE Montpellier, which the same park as BMX Freestyle Street and Skateboarding. Parkour classes will take place next to the sponsor village.
