NASA's New Horizons Reaches The Kuiper Belt

According to CNN, NASA's New Horizons mission sent back a images of an icy space rock in Neptune's orbit.
The spacecraft completed a flyby of Ultima Thule in the Kuiper Belt, getting within 2,200 miles of the rock's surface.
New Horizons has traveled about 4 billion miles throughout the solar system since it launched in 2006.
Back in 2015, it completed a similar flyby of Pluto and its five moons.
But the spacecraft is now 1 billion miles away from Pluto, and onto its second mission for NASA.
