S. Korean stock markets open on first trading session of 2019

Following an opening ceremony for the new year, South Korea's stock markets opened their first trading session of 2019 this Wednesday at 10 a.m....one hour later than usual.
Their last trading session was on December 28th last year.
The benchmark KOSPI opened today four tenths of a percent higher in the first 15 minutes of trading on gains from market heavy weights.
The secondary KOSDAQ also opened about one percent higher.
Markets will close at the same time as usual, at 3:30 PM.
