Two American chess players decided to have a game in Antarctica earlier this month inspired by the world championships in London.

The match between James Van Steenkiste and Peter Horvath took place at the Union Glacier expedition camp, six hundred miles from the South Pole.

Van Steenkiste eventually claimed victory after 12 minutes in temperatures of minus 10 degrees.

The clip was captured on December 17.
