A father in Springfield, Georgia, who played Santa at a Walmart, was arrested after the remains of two teenagers believed to be his children were found buried behind his home, reports KUTV.
The Effingham County Sheriff's Department said in a December 20 statement that it made the "gruesome discovery" after being alerted to a suspected missing person.  The person who called said that Mary Crocker, age 14, hadn't been seen in some time. While her family had not filed a report regarding her disappearance, police questioned her father, stepmother, step-grandmother, and the step-grandmother's boyfriend.  Their conflicting responses are said to have raised suspicions, and the land around the home was searched. Authorities report that they found two bodies.  According to the statement released by the sheriff's office, they are believed to be those of Mary and her brother 14-year-old Elwyn Crocker Jr.
"Mary Crocker had not been seen since October 2018 and her brother Elwyn Crocker Jr, had not been seen since November 2016. Neither child ever had an official missing report filed," it further notes. The family members and boyfriend questioned have been charged with cruelty to children in the first degree and concealing the death of another.  A third child who was found alive inside the home was taken to an area hospital for observation.
