In Christmas Eve Tweet, Trump Says He's 'All Alone (Poor Me)' In The White House

President Trump on Monday tweeted he's "all alone" in the White House.

President Trump on Monday afternoon bemoaned having to spend the day before Christmas in the White House.  He tweeted: "I am all alone (poor me) in the White House waiting for the Democrats to come back and make a deal on desperately needed Border Security. At some point the Democrats not wanting to make a deal will cost our Country more money than the Border Wall we are all talking about. Crazy!"
White House budget director Mick Mulvaney has indicated that a partial government shutdown that went into effect early Saturday will likely not be over soon, telling Fox News Sunday's Chris Wallace, "It's very possible that this shutdown will go beyond the 28th and into the new Congress."
The Senate has adjourned for the holidays and is expected to reopen on Thursday, December 27.
The next Congress--which will see a Democratic majority in the House--is set to begin on January 3.
Mulvaney also defended the chaos the shutdown has caused, saying, "This is what Washington looks like when you have a president who refuses to sort of go along to get along. You're seeing a fight over border security."
The partial government shutdown began after lawmakers could not agree on a budget given the president's demand for $5 billion in border wall funding.
