Wives of detained Chinese human rights lawyers shave heads in protest

The wives of four detained Chinese lawyers and activists shaved their heads to protest “lawlessness” in China. The women chose the action because the Chinese words for “completely bald” and “state of lawlessness”  – wufa – are homonyms. Their husbands were arrested during the so-called “709 crackdown” on 300 lawyers and their supporters starting July 9, 2015.
