Chinese and Indian soldiers resumed joint military training in December 2018 for the first time since the two nations were in a tense standoff over the Doklam region of the Himalayas 18 months ago. The annual two-week military drills which were suspended in 2017, restarted on December 11 in Chengdu, China. The exercises aim to strengthen the two armies’ capabilities to combat terrorism.
