PM Narendra Modi's 1st trip to Congress stronghold Rae Bareli

After the setbacks, BJP suffered in assembly polls in three major states this week, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has now reached Sonia's strong hold Rae Bareli today. This is Prime Minister Modi’s first visit to Raebareli. Modi’s visit is being seen as a strategy of the BJP to pin the congress leadership in their respective constituencies in the 2019 general election. PM Modi will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate projects worth Rs 1,100 crore, in a major push for connectivity in Rae Bareli. The PM inspected a modern rail coach factory as part of his visit a short while ago.
