Former India head coach Gary Kirsten, who successfully coached the MS Dhoni-led Men in Blue to a World Cup victory at home in 2011, has applied for the high profile job of head coach of the women’s team, Regarded as one of the best coaches, Kirsten has also coached South African cricket team. Apart from that, he has also held coaching position at Delhi Daredevils, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Hobart Hurricanes. In August this year, he was named as the head coach of RCB, taking over the job from Daniel Vettori.

भारतीय महिला क्रिकेट टीम के कोच का चयन रोचक होता जा रहा है। इस पद के लिए पूर्व साउथ अफ्रीकी क्रिकेटर गैरी कर्स्टन ने भी आवेदन किया है, यह वही गैरी कर्स्टन हैं, जिनकी कोचिंग में भारतीय पुरुष टीम 2011 में विश्व विजेता बनी थी।इस पद के लिए अतुल बेडाडे, डेविड जॉनसन, राकेश शर्मा, मनोज प्रभाकर, ओवैश शाह, हर्षल गिब्स, दिमित्री मास्करेनहास, डॉमिनिक थॉरनेली, गार्गी बनर्जी, विद्युत जयसिम्हा, रमेश पोवार, कोलिन सिलर और डेव वॉटमोर ने भी ओवदन किया है। लेकिन गैरी कर्स्टन इन सभी में मजबूत दावेदार माने जा रहे हैं।
