Reuters reports Venezuela’s El Nacional newspaper published its last print edition on Friday. The paper has been heavily critical of the ruling Socialist Party and has dealt with government pressure, as well as a collapsing economy, for years. The paper is transitioning to online, since it has become nearly impossible to obtain newsprint due to the lack of imports. It also faces potentially huge payments in a defamation lawsuit brought by Socialist Party No. 2 Diosdado Cabello.El Nacional said it will resume its print edition “when the country returns to democracy."
