8 tricks to keep your fruits and vegetables fresh

We believe that leaving fruits and vegetables in their plastic bags and settling them in the bottom drawer of the fridge is the best way to preserve them... Well, not all fruits and vegetables belong there, and they are better ways to keep them fresh!
1. Wrap celery in tin foil instead of plastic: Celery will loose it's firmness and its taste with plastic that will make it soft.
2. Asparagus are like flowers: Keep asparaguses up in a glass of water like a bouquet of flowers. They will last longer.
3. Banana stems in plastic: Do not put them in the fridge! Keep them room temperature by wrapping the stems with film they will be fresher longer.
4. Store your tomatoes with the stalk facing up: The top part of the tomato is the most sensitive. So by facing them on the bottom, they will rot.
5. Avocados in plastic bags, not paper: When avocados are ripe, keep them in a plastic bag and in the fridge. Paper bags will ease the decomposition process.
6. Onions and garlic need to be in the dark: They will go darker and start growing if they are left in the light.
7. Peeled vegetables should be kept in jars of water: To prevent your food from going bad once you chop your vegetables to save time once you're cooking, put them in a jar with water.
8. Don't wash your fruits and vegetables before storing them: Wash your produce before you eat them, but don't wash them if you're going to keep them in the fridge. You'll take off the natural defenses.
