Massive Cave Discovered in Canada, Named After ‘Star Wars’ Beast

Geek.com reports that a massive, unexplored cave which was recently discovered by accident in Canada has been named “Sarlacc’s Pit". The name is a reference to the multi-tentacled alien that appeared in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. Geologist Catherine Hickson, who explored the cave in September, told CBC News; "It was absolutely amazing". Canada’s Ministry of Environment and Climate Change first came across the massive structure in Wells Gray Provincial Park in British Columbia while conducting a caribou count by helicopter in March.
