French Foreign Minister Rebukes Trump’s Tweets: ‘Leave Our Nation Be’

France has told President Trump to not meddle in its domestic affairs after he posted multiple tweets on Saturday.
A French official has said that President Trump should stay out of France's domestic issues after the U.S. president tweeted about the anti-government riots rocking the country.
According to AFP, France's Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said in an interview with LCI television: "We do not take domestic American politics into account and we want that to be reciprocated....I say this to Donald Trump and the French president says it too: leave our nation be."
The rebuke comes after Trump tweeted about the situation in France.
"Very sad day & night in Paris. Maybe it's time to end the ridiculous and extremely expensive Paris Agreement and return money back to the people in the form of lower taxes? The U.S. was way ahead of the curve on that and the only major country where emissions went down last year!" Trump tweeted Saturday.
He also wrote: "The Paris Agreement isn't working out so well for Paris. Protests and riots all over France. People do not want to pay large sums of money, much to third world countries (that are questionably run), in order to maybe protect the environment. Chanting 'We Want Trump!' Love France."
In a separate interview, the foreign minister contradicted Trump's claim about the chant, reportedly saying: "The protesters didn't protest in English!"
Axios has also pointed out that, despite what Trump said, the Paris Agreement does not actually include a gas tax hike though the outlet admits that efforts to address climate change would likely lead to higher fossil fuel prices.
Paris and other areas of France are in recovery mode after around 125,000 demonstrators came out Saturday to express their frustrations about the high cost of living, among other economy-related grievances.
