Dollar General Has Become One Of The Biggest US Retailers

Dollar General has quietly been growing to become the largest retailer in the United States. According to Business Insider there are 15,227 Dollar General stores in the US, compared to14,000 McDonald's and 14,600 Starbucks locations. Dollar General loses out only to Subway, which has around 25,800 US locations. In 2017, Dollar General opened new stores at a rate of around four stores per day and the company isn't finished with its aggressive expansion plans. It's on track to open 975 new stores in 2019.
