France Will Close Eiffel Tower, Louvre, In Fear Of Protests

France is set to close the Eiffel Tower and other major tourist attractions in Paris this weekend, in fear of another wave of violent protests in the country. Reuters reports
Prime Minister Edouard Philippe said 89,000 police would be deployed throughout France this weekend in attempts to stop a repeat of last Saturday’s massive protests across France. Protestors of the “yellow vest” movement have called on social media for “Act IV," meaning a fourth weekend of protest. During the uprisings, the Arc de Triomphe was vandalized with graffiti directed at President Emmanuel Macron. The protests began after Macron announced a tax increase on fuel. Philippe told the Senate last week he was open to new measures to help low-paid workers.
