Wanted India to look cool, AR Rahman on Hockey Men’s World Cup anthem

Music maestro and composer AR Rahman spoke about the Men's Hockey World Cup anthem and how it came about. He said that it took four hours while he was in the US on tour to conceptualise it. The lyrics were penned by Gulzar and Rahman heard the first two lines and knew it would fit in with his melody. He chose artists like Shah Rukh Khan for the video so that even those who are not related to sports or watch them could relate to the anthem and the culture he was promoting in the song.
