'Baby, It's Cold Outside' Banned by More Radio Stations Causes Backlash The Christmas song "Baby, It's Cold Outside" was written by Frank Loesser in 1944. In the wake of the growing #MeToo movement, critics
of the song claim it promotes date rape. After many radio stations chose to take
the song off the air for the holiday season, listeners started to get upset. Freska Griarte, DJ at KOIT
in San Francisco Glenn Anderson, DJ at Star 102
in Cleveland In Denver, Colorado, 95% of listeners voted
in favor of the song in an online poll, forcing
KOSI 101.1 to put the song back on the air. In San Francisco, California, KOIT 96.5
has launched a similar online poll and will
announce the results on Dec. 10. CBC Radio in Canada has also announced that they
will be keeping the song off their holiday playlists.
