In the run-up to the general election next year and assembly elections in a number of states in December, political parties have been making tall claims and some totally outlandish promises.One such promise was made in Rajasthan by a Bharatiya Janata Party candidate from the Sojat assembly seat.Shobha Chouhan has promised the people of her constituency that she would ensure child marriages are not acted against if she is voted to power. Chauhan was addressing a gathering at a Sneh Sammelan at the Peepaliya Kala region in Sojat area.

राजस्थान विधानसभा चुनाव 2018 में बीजेपी के टिकट पर सोजत से चुनाव लड़ रही शोभा चौहान का एक वीडियो सोशल मीडिया पर वायरल हो रहा है. शोभा इस वीडियो में देवासी समाज के बीच चुनावी प्रचार करते हुए बाल-विवाह को बढ़ावा देते हुए नजर आ रही हैं. शोभा चौहान इस वीडियो में लोगों को आश्वासन देती नजर आ रही हैं कि कम उम्र में लड़के-लड़कियों की शादी करोगे तो वह उनके घर पुलिस नहीं आने देंगीं. चुनाव में समाज का समर्थन मांगते हुए बाल-विवाह जैसे अपराध के लिए लोगों को प्रेरित करते नजर आ रही शोभा रानी के इस भाषण को लेकर फिलहाल पार्टी और निर्वाचन विभाग दोनों की कोई प्रतिक्रिया सामने नहीं आई है.
