GM announced it is likely to shutter three of its factories soon. One is in Lordstown, Ohio.
At the same time, Tesla founder Elon Musk is struggling to keep up with demand for his electric vehicles.
According to Business Insider, that presents a promising opportunity for both Musk and Lordstown.
Were Musk to take over the plant, he'd have immediate access to skilled workers.
He'd also be physically located far closer to the auto supply chain, which is based in the Midwest.
