Students across Australia skip class for mass climate change protests

Major Australian cities from Sydney to Western Australia saw students taking to the streets to take part in climate change protests on Friday, November 30.

Students skipped school to highlight what they are calling inadeuate climate policies by the Australian government.

This video, filmed at Martin Place in Sydney, shows the crowd cheering as a student presented a speech. Many are seen holding up protest signs and clapping.

The prime minister, Scott Morrison, had earlier this week urged students this week not to take part and told them to be “less activist”.
