CNN's Jim Acosta Asks Sarah Sanders: Why Doesn't Trump Have 'Faith' In His Advisers?

CNN's Jim Acosta asked Sarah Sanders about President Trump's recent comments over Jamal Khashoggi's death.

CNN's Jim Acosta asked White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders during Tuesday's press briefing why President Trump doesn't have "faith in his advisers." Acosta prefaced his question with examples of agency findings and guidance either apparently not followed or largely discounted.  They included the recent dire climate report, the CIA's assessment that Saudi Arabia's crown prince ordered the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi and the intelligence community's conclusion that Russia attempted to influence the 2016 election. Sanders replied: "That's not true. The president has a great deal of faith in the intelligence community," then noted that she'd already explained the dismissal of the climate report's conclusion as exaggerated and "not based on facts." In regard to Khashoggi's killing, she said, "we haven't seen definitive evidence come from our intelligence community that ties him directly to that…The people that we have no doubt about their involvement, we've taken action on…we'll see what happens beyond that and if there's more definitive information will make a decision at that point."  In a recent statement, Trump suggested that the matter is already resolved, writing, "we may never know all of the facts surrounding the murder of Mr. Jamal Khashoggi. In any case, our relationship is with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. "
