A massive sandstorm blowing from the Gobi desert has coated Chinese cities with yellow dust.

Kim Hyo-sun reports.
A sandstorm hit Zhangye City, northwest of China's Gansu Province on Sunday afternoon.
Whipped up by strong winds of around 17 meters a second,... it formed a sand wall as high as one-hundred meters.
What looks like a massive tsunami,... the sandstorm engulfed the city within minutes,... reducing visibility to less than ten meters.
Major expressways were shut down and vehicles stopped in the middle of the road.
As the sandstorm traveled west,... Beijing also came under the influence of the sandstorm.
Coupled with high fine dust levels, the sandstorm sharply worsened the city's air quality.
It's also expected to affect South Korea.
The country's weather agency forecasts that the yellow dust from China could affect central regions, including Seoul, from Tuesday afternoon.
