Moment out of 'Jaws' as Great White Shark tries to bite through underwater cage

Divers watch in heart-pounding awe as a massive 3.5-metre Great White Shark bit into an underwater cage in the waters off South Africa on November 11.

The bite force of the massive fish is so strong that the sound of the impact can be clearly heard underwater. The behaviour seen is known as 'mouthing', where sharks will mouth something if they are unsure what a object is or if it's edible or not.

Often known as the exploratory bite, the shark will leave the object once it's found to be inedible. As you can see, this shark didn't like the taste of the cage much.

Clip was filmed in Mossel Bay, South Africa.
