After BJP jibe, Rahul Gandhi reveals his 'Dattatery Gotra'; Who's 'hinduer' war? Nation at 9

In hindu tradition, like in christian tradition, history begins with a great flood. In our story, manu rescues a little a fish which is about to be eaten by a bigger one. When that fish grows up, it comes to manu and asks him to follow him in a boat. The waters then rise and the sins of the world are flooded clean, manu then descends from the high ground now called manuravatranam or manu's descent. Today, the fish, the matasya is considered the first avatar of vishnu. Between the gods and their avatars, if you start counting, you'll never really finish. The yajurveda mentions 33 principal dieties, some say it meant 33 million. Hinduism is then as cultural and historical as it is ecclesiastical. There is no one god, there is no one prophet, there is no singular belief, no one book, no on philosophy. There never has been, there never will be. But in it's epics, it's role in a cradle of civilisation, it's ethics, from art to science to culture, there is much to be said about a larger hindu pride. That it should be reflective in a nations politics is not an insidious thing, but a healthy priority. But our political discourse is like water running down a hill, constantly in the search of the lowest point. After the 2014 whitewash, ak antony advised the congress that completly ignoring hinduism wasn't genius politics. Now in the 2019 battle, rahul gandhi is going from temple to temple, tika, aarti and bhakti in tow. The other side is meanwhile revving up ayodhya. Within this they're debating who's a better hindu. Whether you take tharoor's diatribes or the bjp's dares. Today rahul gandhi has revealed that he's a kaul brahmin of dattatrey gotra. This after he was dared to do so by a bjp man. So what's your gotra? If you don't know are you a bad hindu? If you don't visit a temple every thursday are you a bad hindu? If you haven't done the teerth yatra, are you a bad hindu? If you have, are you a better hindu? In the answers to the questions we ask ourself we find the truth of what really matters to us. Hindu pride is a good thing, how do we save it from political prejudice on all sides is the conversation.
