CHAMAN: At least 10 people, including prayer leader of the mosque, have been wounded in a blast on Wednesday in Chaman area, Blaochistan, ARY News reported.

The blast took place at Eidgah Qadeemi Masjid while Maghreb prayer was underway, police said adding that nature of the powerful blast could not be ascertained yet.



The site of the incident is near the Pakistan-Afghan border.

The injured were taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment, where the local government has declared a state of emergency to treat the wounded.

Law enforcers have cordoned off the area, while Bomb Disposal Squad has reached the site of the explosion.

Sources said some explosive device went off in a cupboard kept in the mosque, however it’s being determined whether it was a cylinder blast or a battery went off. Glass and furniture were scattered all around.
