Trump: 'Being President Has Cost Me A Fortune'

President Trump said Tuesday that "being president" has cost him a fortune.

President Trump on Tuesday said that being president has proven to be quite expensive for him.  He'd been asked if, as the Washington Post editorial board suggested, he's putting his personal interests before those of the nation in his dealings with Saudi Arabia.  "I don't have money from Saudi Arabia. I have nothing to do with Saudi Arabia. I couldn't care less," Trump said. "And I will tell you, and as most of you know, being President has cost me a fortune, and that's okay with me. I knew that a long time ago," he further noted. "But being President has cost me a fortune — a tremendous fortune like you've never seen before, but someday I'll tell you what that is."  The question and comments followed Trump's statement of continued support for Saudi Arabia, which came despite the CIA's assessment that the country's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman had authorized the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
