Trump: 'Wouldn't It Have Been Nice If We Got Osama bin Laden A Lot Sooner?'

President Trump has questioned retired Navy SEAL Adm. Bill McRaven's achievement of taking down of Osama bin Laden seven years ago, saying pointedly, "Wouldn't it have been nice if we got Osama bin Laden a lot sooner than that?"
The president made the comment on "Fox News Sunday" during a discussion of his attacks on the media.
When host Chris Wallace brings up McRaven, who is a decorated four-star admiral, the president interrupts and says, "Hillary Clinton fan."
And after Wallace describes McRaven's oversight of the operation that killed bin Laden, but also refers to the admiral's strong criticisms of Trump's attacks on the press, the president says: "He's a Hillary Clinton backer and an Obama backer. And frankly, wouldn't it have been nice if we got Osama bin Laden a lot sooner than that? Wouldn't it have been nice?"
In May 2011, bin Laden, the head of the terrorist group Al Qaeda which was responsible for the attacks on 9/11, was killed by a Navy SEAL unit overseen by McRaven.
Six years later, during a speech to the University of Texas' Moody College of Communication, the 37-year veteran of the U.S. military blasted Trump.
"We must challenge this statement and this sentiment that the news media is the enemy of the American people," he said. "This sentiment may be the greatest threat to democracy in my lifetime."
