Disney Debuts New Trailer for 'Dumbo' The first official trailer for the live-action remake of 'Dumbo' was released Nov. 15. The film uses visual effects to portray the elephant and his other circus friends. Danny DeVito plays the owner of the faltering circus. Colin Farrell portrays a former star, who is hired to look after the newborn elephant. 'Dumbo' gets teased for his oversized ears, which eventually allow him to fly. Disney's classic animated 'Dumbo' opened in 1941 and won an Oscar for scoring of a musical picture. Tim Burton, known for his work on 'Alice in Wonderland' and 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,' will direct the film. 'Dumbo' hits theaters on March 29, 2019.
