School officials in Framingham, Massachusetts have launched a hate crime investigation into the recent threatening letters received by a Muslim student at the Hemenway Elementary School, reports WFXT. The first note left in the fifth-grade girl's cubby read, 'You are a terrorist" and included her last name.  In the second, the as-yet unidentified person wrote, "I will kill you."  Robert Tremblay, the superintendent of Framingham Public Schools, said in a letter to parents: "While we are extremely disappointed in this turn of events, we remain committed to equity and justice…It is not lost on me the harm these letters have caused the family and the greater Muslim community. I want to reassure you the Framingham Public Schools stands with you. We will not accept hate. We will stand united against it."  BuzzFeed News reports that area police are assisting with the investigation.
