The 2016 RAV 4 is powered by the same drivetrain found in the Lexus NX 300h, meaning a 2.5-litre petrol engine, electric motor, continuously variable automatic transmission and a nickel metal hydride battery. The model I drove costs around £30,000 so it's not cheap, it's not a plug-in-hybrid but I ended up really liking it.
