BJP leader and Union minister Ananth Kumar died at 59 on Monday in Bengaluru. Karnataka government declared a 3-day mourning period for Ananth Kumar. Kumar was undergoing treatment for cancer. Kumar is survived by his wife and two daughters. He had the credit of being the “youngest” minister in Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s cabinet in 1998. Kumar was serving as the Union Cabinet Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Chemicals and Fertilizers in the current government.
