Chhattisgarh D-Day: Last day of the 1st phase; bid to win 'red corridor'

Chhattisgarh will be the first of the five states to go to polls on Monday the 12th of November. Monday will see the first phase of the polls in the state, with polling taking place for 18 seats of the 90 seats. The Prime Minister will conduct his first rally in the Maoist hit Bastar region. The Prime Minister continues to be the BJP's ace campaigner. Meanwhile, Congress President Rahul Gandhi too will be in Chhattisgarh for a 2 day campaign. The elections are taking place in the backdrop of deadly naxal attacks. Just 4 days ahead of elections 4 poll duty CISF personnel were killed in an IED blast. Ahead of the polls, the naxals have stepped up their attacks in a desperate bid to thwart elections.
