Korean foreign exchange rate saw increased volatility in October: BOK
  • 5 years ago
Korea's central bank says that the won only increased slightly against the U.S. dollar at the start of November despite exchange rate volatility in the previous month.
The Bank of Korea released its analysis on the global financial market and Korea's foreign exchange market on Friday...and said the rise in the won-dollar exchange rate was limited from the end of September to the first week of November.
This comes despite all major indices on Wall Street plunging due to fears over slowing growth, trade wars and higher interest rates in October.
However, the BOK added volatility in exchange rates, which measures the daily change in average, increased in October...compared to the previous month.
