Tourists get stunning view of wildebeest herds from hot air balloon

A group of visitors to Kenya had an unforgettable experience in a hot air balloon earlier this year when they passed directly over a giant herd of stampeding wildebeests.

The incredible footage, which was captured over the Maasai Mara back in August, shows the hot air balloon floating above the enormous herd.

When the pilot fires up the burner, the antelopes take fright and begin to stampede beneath the delighted tourists.

The behaviour of the pilot in the video does appear a little reckless, although none of the animals came to any harm.

Wildebeests, also called gnus, belong to the family Bovidae, which includes antelopes, cattle, goats, sheep, and other even-toed horned ungulates
