Lion Air Plane Hits Pole Before Take-Off

A Lion Air plane hit into a lamppost before take-off last night just a week after one of its planes plunged into the sea with all 189 people on board. The Boeing 737-900 was moving towards the runway when the wing collided with a lamppost at Fatmawati airport in Bengkulu, Indonesia, at approximately 6:30pm on November 7. The collision tore the left wing leaving a fragment dangling in the air and bent the lamppost over. All passengers were transferred to a second plane and they arrived in the capital Jakarta at 11:50pm, four hours later than scheduled.
