Justice Department To Send Fewer Civil Rights Monitors

The Department of Justice announced in a press release Monday that they will be sending fewer civil rights monitors to polling places than in 2016. Business Insider reports DOJ personnel will be deployed to 35 jurisdictions in 19 states. In 2016, DOJ personnel were present in 67 jurisdictions in 28 states. Stories of voter intimidation and harassment have been reported among early voters across the country.
