The National Assembly's budget committee is into the second day of its deliberation over the government's 4-hundred-20 billion U.S. dollar budget proposal.
Top government officials will once again be fielding questions from rival lawmakers over the specifics of the spending plan.
The ruling Democratic Party and the government will likely emphasize the need for the expansionary budget to revitalize the economy,... and address poor job market conditions and slumping investment.
However, the opposition party is firm on its stance.... that the government cannot use taxpayer money for its income-led growth policies,... and is likely to demand large cuts to the budget allocated for creating short-term or public sector jobs.
After concluding the questioning session,... the budget committee will carry out an in-depth screening of the budget by sector starting tomorrow.
