Tim Bevan
"This is an absolutely amazing time in British cinema at the moment, which is mainly because we have such an amazing collection of British directors working all around and it makes be very proud to be part of this business because I think it's something that's going to go on.

"This award really belongs to the director of Atonement, who took a film that other people would have made an average movie and he elevated it in every single area that he could, he cast it brilliantly, he crewed it brilliantly and he got excellence out of absolutely everybody involved in the film. Joe Wright is not here unfortunately, he's shooting another film in LA but this is his award."

Paul Webster
"I was going to say a big thing about Working Title but I think James (McAvoy) has said that so I don't want to repeat myself but I think that nevertheless that they are kind of the pillars of the film industry in this country and a lot to do with the fact that there are so many great actors and directors working today. There are also a lot of people behind the camera who worked on the film and this film was a big dream for a lot of people and I would like to personally dedicate this film to the men and women, boys and girls of Redcar, which we took over and turned into Dunkirk and used a lot of Middlesborough football club supporters who were pretty pissed off that they lost to Cardiff - hopefully, some of them will tune into this and watch and realise that this is also for them, they did a fantastic job and without them the film wouldn't have been as wonderful as it was. Thank you very much."
