Zayn Malik makes childish dig at Little Mix via Twitter
Zayn Malik took an unnecessary pop at Perrie Edwards and Little Mix, by making a dig their number one hit-single Black Magic via Twitter.
Perrie and Zay, who split around a month ago, are thought to have had no contact since they went their separate ways, and the ex-One Direction singer reportedly skipped the Teen Choice Awards to avoid an awkward public encounter with Perrie.
Despite being the one to call things off, Zayn made a little dig at Perrie by retweeting a post to show that he thought Worth It by Fifth Harmony was a better single.
Little Mix went head-to-head with Fifth Harmony for the Choice Female Music Group award and eventually lost, although they did scoop up an award for Choice Music Breakout Artist.
Another reason Zayn is thought to have skipped the event is the fact he was pitched against One Direction in the Choice Male Hottie category, which is pretty awkward.
The ex-One Direction singer's post understandably sent fans into a frenzy, with one fan tweeting: "IM LAUGHING MY A** OFF ZAYN YOU HAVE 0% CHILL MY SON (sic)"
Meanwhile Little Mix fans slammed the 22 year old, saying: "You are so immature" and another added: "Respect Perrie at least a little bit."
Over in Perrie's camp she's done little to acknowledge her split from Zayn, although her bandmates have taken plenty of opportunities to throw shade - which is a weird term, as it's physically impossible to do - at Zayn.
The band were spotted with a sign that dubbed Zayn "irrelevant" and Perrie's bandmate Jade Thirlwall pointed to Perrie while singing the lyrics "just to help him see what he's been missing" as they sang their hit, Black Magic.
If this is how fractious things are now, think how bad it's going to be when they meet in public for the first time! Yikes.
