75% of Venice is now under flood waters caused by strong winds that are pushing an exceptional high tide into the famous city since Monday. Tourists and residents donning high boots are navigating the streets on Monday after water level reached 156 cm before receding. The Italian lagoon city is frequently affected by floods but this year's level peaked the highest since December 2008, according to reports. Schools are closed for the second day due to the flooding.
