President Moon Jae-in is visiting key sites around the country with the aim of boosting the regional economy.
His first destination was Jeollabuk-do Province, a region that has suffered hundreds of job losses recently, but is the site of a huge renewable energy cluster that the governmnet hopes can boost the local economy.
Cha Sang-mi has the report.

To highlight the importance of South Korea's drive toward renewable energy, President Moon Jae-in attended a ceremony on Tuesday in Saemangeum -- a coastal city near Gunsan, Jeollabuk-do Province -- to unveil his vision for a massive renewable energy cluster by 2022.
Citing the nation's lagging figures for renewables, which make up just eight percent of the country's power generation, the President reiterated his campaign pledge of fostering Korea's environmentally-friendly energy so that 20 percent of the country's energy comes from renewables by 2030.
The so-called "Renewable Energy 3020" plan is not just environmentally friendly, but will also help boost employment.
The President said the renewable sector creates more than 10 million jobs globally every year.

Praising the people of Jeollabuk-do Province and the efforts of the Saemangeum Development and Investment Agency, President Moon vowed to invite manufacturing firms and set up research centers within the cluster to raise Korea's renewable energy skills to another level.
President Moon said this project will be a good opportunity for local energy firms that are struggling from a lack of domestic demand.
