S. Korea, U.S. working closely together despite "different views in some areas": Minister
  • 5 years ago
South Korea's unification minister has admitted Seoul and Washington have different views in some areas, but they remain in close coordination.
Responding to a question during the final parliamentary audit session on Monday,... Cho Myoung-gyon indicated the two Koreas have not started their joint railway inspections slated for late October because of U.S. resistance.
However, he said the U.S. is being cooperative... and the allies are continuing discussions.
On whether the two sides would be able to declare an end to the Korean War and if North Korean leader Kim Jong-un would visit the South, both before the end of the year, the minister said both were possible.
