Ahoi Ashtami is the festival that is specifically meant for mothers. Mother's keep fast on this day for the well being of their children and this is celebrated in the month of October - November (Karthik Mas). कार्तिककृष्ण पक्ष की अष्टमी पर पड़ने वाली अहोई माता का व्रत औरतें अपनी संतान की दीर्घायु के लिए रखती है। महिलाएं इस दिन अहोई अष्टमी का निर्जल व्रत अपनी संतान के लिए आज ही रखें तो शुभ होगा। व्रत के तहत शाम को तारों के उदय होने पर महिलाएं पूजा-अर्चना कर व्रत खोलेंगी।
