Indo-Japan Ties: PM Narendra Modi arrives in Japan for 3-day summit; meets Shinzo Abe

Prime Minister Modi is in Japan for a 2 day bilateral summit. He arrived in Tokyo to a warm welcome last night. This will be PM Modi's 12th meeting with Japanese PM Shinzo Abe since he first visited Japan as Prime Minister in September 2014. PM Modi and Abe will engage in discussions about defence and regional security among several other things. India is also hoping to have some kind of synergy or integration between Modi's Ayushman Bharat scheme, which is the largest medicare programme of its kind globally, and the Japanese programme which is called Asia health and well-being initiative.
