Tree of Life Synagogue
Leaves 11 Dead 46-year-old Robert Bowers —
identified as the suspected
gunman — surrendered to police
and is currently in custody. His surrender followed
a gunfight with police in
which three officers were shot. Bowers made anti-Semitic
statements during the shooting. At least 6 people
were wounded. Three separate congregations
had met for Shabbat in
different sections of the synagogue. Shabbat,
the Jewish holy day,
is observed on Saturdays. Michael Eisenberg, Tree of Life congregation,

Tom Wolf tweeted from the scene. He called the violence
"an absolute tragedy" President Donald Trump
