Trump Laments 'This Bomb Stuff' Is Slowing GOP's Election 'Momentum'

President Trump on Friday lamented about "this bomb stuff" taking attention away from Republicans' election momentum.

President Trump on Friday lamented the attention the recent attempted bomb attacks against top Democrats are taking away from Republicans' midterm election momentum.
"Republicans are doing so well in early voting, and at the polls, and now this 'Bomb' stuff happens and the momentum greatly slows - news not talking politics. Very unfortunate, what is going on. Republicans, go out and vote!" Trump tweeted.
Earlier, he lashed out at CNN over its coverage of the bomb scares against the network, former President Barack Obama, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and other prominent Democrats.
"Funny how lowly rated CNN, and others, can criticize me at will, even blaming me for the current spate of Bombs and ridiculously comparing this to September 11th and the Oklahoma City bombing, yet when I criticize them they go wild and scream, 'it's just not Presidential!'" Trump wrote in an early morning tweet.
Trump did denounce the recent attacks and called for civility during his remarks on Wednesday.
"The packages are being inspected by top explosive experts, and a major federal investigation is now underway," Trump said at a press event. "The full weight of our government is being deployed to conduct this investigation and bring those responsible for these despicable acts to justice. We will spare no resources or expense in this effort."
"In these times, we have to unify. We have to come together, and send one very clear, strong, unmistakable message that acts or threats of political violence of any kind have no place in the United States of America," Trump added.  However, the following morning, he tweeted: "A very big part of the Anger we see today in our society is caused by the purposely false and inaccurate reporting of the Mainstream Media that I refer to as Fake News." "It has gotten so bad and hateful that it is beyond description. Mainstream Media must clean up its act, FAST!" the president continued.
Trump's response to the attempted attacks has been widely criticized.
A New York Times' piece notes: "Upset that critics linked a spate of pipe bombs targeting his adversaries to his own angry messaging, Mr. Trump abandoned the scripted call for national solidarity he issued the day before and lashed out at perceived enemies for fomenting the toxic political environment they say he has encouraged."
