800 More Troops Are Being
Ordered to the US/Mexico Border Defense Secretary James Mattis
could sign deployment orders
for the troops as soon as Thursday. Their purpose will be assisting
authorities to stop a caravan of
migrants from Central America. The caravan of roughly
1,000 migrants are currently
moving through Mexico. Many will seek
asylum in the U.S. once
they reach the border. The troops will provide
technical support by providing
fencing and wall materials. Sources say they will not
engage in lethal action as
a means of stopping the migrants. The troops are
expected to be in position
as early as next week.
