Trump Blames Media For 'Anger' In Society After Bomb Scares
  • 5 years ago
President Trump on Thursday again slammed the media.

President Trump took to Twitter on Thursday and slammed the media as top Democrats were targeted by pipe bombs mailed nationwide.
"A very big part of the Anger we see today in our society is caused by the purposely false and inaccurate reporting of the Mainstream Media that I refer to as Fake News. It has gotten so bad and hateful that it is beyond description. Mainstream Media must clean up its act, FAST!" Trump wrote on Twitter.
His remarks on Wednesday, however, were more focused on the investigation into the incidents.
"The packages are being inspected by top explosive experts, and a major federal investigation is now underway," Trump said at a press event. "The full weight of our government is being deployed to conduct this investigation and bring those responsible for these despicable acts to justice. We will spare no resources or expense in this effort."
"In these times, we have to unify. We have to come together, and send one very clear, strong, unmistakable message that acts or threats of political violence of any kind have no place in the United States of America," Trump added.
CNN notes: "The bombs found this week were intended for at least seven officials, including Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters. Law enforcement officials are trying to track down another suspicious package sent to former Vice President Joe Biden, and the FBI says additional packages may have been mailed to other locations. An eighth device was discovered early Thursday at an office in New York associated with actor Robert De Niro."
