The New York offices of US cable news channel CNN were evacuated on Wednesday morning after a suspicious device was discovered in the building’s mailroom. Police intercepted a live explosive device and an envelope containing white powder at the Time Warner Center, where the CNN newsroom in New York is based, Police Commissioner James O’Neill told the news conference. The device was removed by the bomb squad. Further investigations are underway. He also urged people to stay alert and call 911 if they observe anything suspicious.
